Circa 1947 Adrian Midnight Blue Silk Gown
United States

Adrian designed Katharine Hepburn's wardrobe in The Philadelphia Story, the dazzling and sometimes amusing costumes in The Women and he pretty much defined Joan Crawford's look. He was responsible for Jean Harlow's slinky and sexy bias-cut costumes. And Greta Garbo's cooly elegant look.

From Adrian's second career as a high fashion designer, we have this beautiful and brilliantly cut midnight blue silk gown. It has the strong shoulder and defined waist that Adrian was known for. As well as all of the glamour that he was known for in Hollywood. The gown is incredible on its own but even more amazing on. The skirt of the gown, cut in three sections flutters dramatically when walking. It is also in remarkable condition!
